Talent on it's own does not win games. It needs to be aligned with hard work and effort. What are you saving your energy for?
A more thoughtful approach in possession yielded the desired results. The opposition cannot score if they do not have the ball. What it relies upon though is everyone in the team doing their job to their maximum.
Goals came from unlikely sources; Tom opening the scoring with a shot that the keeper misjudged and, Tim Flowers-esque, let it go over him. Alf completed the scoring with a header from a Gus corner.
2-0 at half time and how the game would end.
This is part of the story though, LRFC dominated possession and were able to pass their way out of trouble when needed. If the finishing had been better this could easily have been 6 or 7.
Jorge was MotM for his work rate and then simplicity in possession. With two games remaining it has taken along time to get this message into his head :)
There was one amazing moment in the second half, Jaden, playing in the middle block of three players broke forward with such terrifying pace that he found himself alone with just the keeper to beat. Sadly the ball was also behind him - the pitch was so ridged that it had got trapped and was a couple of feet behind him. The move that got Jaden into that space has to be the fastest any player for this team has ever moved!
