LRFC Training Run

Tonight was the last of the LRFC Training Runs and the best was saved until last! A tough run taking in some off-road up to Leckhampton Hill with the reward being a cruise down the hill back to civilisation! Well done to Freddie and Lewis that are the only lads to have done all the summer runs. They were accompanied today by Luca, Will F, and Sam. There was also a guest appearance from Brita. Today's route With only a couple of weeks until the season starts lets hope the lads take their fitness seriously and keep up the good work.

U14's Update

The start to our season has been delayed by a week with Churchdown Panthers submitting a 28day rule - probably running scared ;). [I am joking Simon!!] Our opening fixture will now be at home to Charlton Rovers Reds on 8th September. The calendar view is up to date with all the fixtures although the Churchdown game is yet to be rescheduled. A note on the league structure. Currently the U14's season is scheduled to start with 14 teams who all play each other once by January. There is then a plan to split the division into two with the teams in each division playing each other again. This is how the league is currently structured although there have been some questions raised regarding this approach as some clubs feel that they will be cannon fodder for the better teams in the division. Managers have been consulted for their opinions on this with two options being presented. The current plan, as outlined or an alternative where we start with two divisions and play each team 3 times. I have said that my preference is for the league structure to remain as is as it makes the season more interesting giving us an opportunity to play teams we don't normally. Watch this space.....

Training Run - 14/08

Well done to the lads (Lewis, Freddie, Will F, Willbo, Dan H and special guest Sergi) that turned up for fitness training tonight.

In quite humid conditions although thankfully not raining we completed a longer than anticipated route of 3.5 miles. The pace was nice and steady and we included some walking breaks. The important thing being that we kept moving. There was even a short sharp sprint up the bank on the entrance to Cox's Meadow.

Same time again next week for the last of the summer run sessions. As before can you let me know if you will be coming so I know who to expect.
