Players Player and other questions

The votes for the players player are now all in. Voting was tight with a second round of voting needed to get a clear winner. The announcement will be made at the presentation day on June 17th.

The questionnaire also included other questions relating to the individual  and thoughts on the team...

Luckily, everyone enjoyed playing for the side which is the most important aspect in all of this.

No-one, though, answered yes to having performed their best. Among a couple of specifics like better finishing and more organised set pieces the over whelming reason given was fitness, or rather lack of fitness. This is something that the coaches talked about every week during last season with nothing really changing.

As for what, in our final season in the Cheltenham Youth League, we should be aiming for this was really interesting. Answers ranged from winning the league to winning everything with a couple of mentions to have fun playing.

The two answers are related. for this squad to achieve what it is capable of players need to be fit. Properly fit to play football. You don't get fit playing football you need to be fit to play football. Weight training is great but football is a running sport.

You have identified the problem and have set the target for next season so make it happen by starting now and continuing through the summer so that come the start of the season you are ready for it.

If you want it you will find a way to make it happen if you don't then you will find excuses.
